Week Report
1) Week 1 (Present Quotation)
On the 1st class of SPM, our lecturer Mr Adzhar has assigned and tabulated our names into groups of 8 members. In total, 2 consequently discussion meetings were held to perform the 1st task and determine the direction of the group.
The 1st meeting was held on Sunday 4th of January 2009, 3 pm attended by 3 members of our group. During this discussion, brainstorming session was underway as planned and several idea and suggestion points were brought across. At the end of the session, the outcome was reached in which a company was established, requirements were set, goals and objectives were outlined and the organizational chart was constructed.
The 2nd meeting was held on the same day around 9 pm and was also attended by 3 members of the group.1st task which was the Request for Quotation ( RFQ) required to be presented by the Software Owner ( SO) to all bidders for the project,in this case the Software Companies( SC).
2) Week 2 (Selection of proposal (TShirt4us), Awarded Proposal (Eleven Heaven))
During week 2, as TShirt4us Inc, we received a total of 3 Request For Proposals (RFPs) for our software project entitled Online T-shirt Store dated 08/01/200.The 3 Software Companies ( SCs) that bidded for this software project are ,Tiger Vision Co., AllinOne5Company and 3Dishess Corporation.A detailed comparison has been done to determine the best proposal (please refer attachment).Nevertheless,Shirts4Us Inc is pleased to inform that the received Request For Proposal (RFP) from AllinOne5Company has been selected out of the 3 as the successful bidder for this software project. Each of the group members were instructed by the Project Leader to give rational explanations and reason on which proposal best suits our requirements and why it is deemed as such.
On behalf of Shirts4Us Inc, we would like to commend AllinOne5Company on the quality of their bid displayed in their RFP and its presentation. We would like to thank AllinOneCompany’s for taking the time to submit a proposal for our software project and we look forward to their commitment and involvement in helping Shirts4Us Inc meet all the challenges this project will bring.
Moving on as Eleven Heaven Corp, we are pleased and would like to express my greatest appreciation and gratitude to 3Dishess Corporation for awarding our organization with the software project. Such an opportunity to develop a software application for an established company is much appreciated. On behalf of the entire organization of Eleven Heaven Corp, we are motivated and determined to perform and commit well for the makings of this project. May we succeed and move forward with the development of this project.Several appointments were made between Eleven Heaven Corp and 3Dishess Corporation for the benefit of both sides and to establish a solid corporate relation as to resolve any business issues such as contract review,negotiations as well as outlining the standards and requirements involved.
3) Week 3 (Submission for Justification of Selection)
During week 3, we are assigned to submit the report on the justification of selection to the Project Manager.Siti Rahmah, Noor Fatihah and Lee Wei Teng are each delegated on different parts of the justification of selection. Under the orders of the project leader,we are able to complete the justification in order for it to be most comprehensive and informative as possible.The elaboration on each justification points are being stated on the report.
4) Week 4 & 5 (Continuous correspondence. Reach a common understanding)
Planning the development stage. Before we start our development the budgeting is do to make sure the budget is suitable with the project cost. Divide the development job to other group members. Start to design the project interface to show to our client.
5) Week 6 (Discard 1 team member-economic crisis)
Mr Adzhar created a imaginary scenario whereby in the current situation on the world in in the state massive economic crisis. As a result of this, many thriving organizations have resorted to extreme measures in order to sustain its financial and profitable growth. Most common measure taken is to discard or retrench a certain amount of employees relatively depending on the size of the organization. In the real word, if such an economic crisis were to happen, the termination or retrenchment of employees during this is a standard procedure. So to establish this real-life situation,Mr Adzhar announced that in the SPM class, all the 11 teams need to decide to discard 1 from each of their groups. But, at the same time our group leader William was absent this class so our group has sent for Azam on William’s behalf to make the decision. The decision was very difficult. All members reached a consensus and agreed that if such an economic crisis were to befallen upon us, the one who is a liability will take the bullet. In this case we decided that Suraya was the liability so she was to be discarded from this group.
6) Week 7 (Submit Slide stages-Presentation)
On week 7 the group members are given task to research study and present on the significant stages of Software Project Management. The main 5 stages in SPM are Initiation, Planning & Design, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling and the last stage which is Closing. Each stage is being delegated by the project leader evenly between group members. The project leader will direct and monitor all group members carrying out their assigned tasks. Once completed, submit the presentation slide to the lecturer. From this task, in general we have gained valuable knowledge regarding the elements present in each stage in great detail.
7) Week 7&8 (Resume Project Development)
Aside from the tasks assigned, at the end of week 7 to week 8 the group members were instructed by the project leader resumes our project development according to the process stage. Every group member will refer and report to the project leader to gain insight or direction on what is needed to be done. Ongoing correspondences are also carried out from time to time to ensure that the current requirements and standards are always made.Group meeting will take place regularly to establish a clear understanding and to inspect and supervise each delegated tasks done by members
8) Week 8
On week9 we have a meeting with our client. The meeting was held at cafeteria (KK1). The purpose of the meeting to discuss about interface development.
At the end of the meeting, the outcome was reached in which the client agree with all of our terms and agreements.
9) Week 9 (Distributed Final Report Task)
Meeting 1:

Software projects have several properties

– The product is intangible.
Its hard to claim a bridge is 90%
